Local Maker Spotlight - Feb 2, 2018

We are happy to introduce a new blog series called “Local Maker Spotlight” where we will be shouting out local MN artisans who create beautiful things while also being good to our planet. At Commune, we take a stand against tobacco corporations and we support others who care about our planet and actively work to make it a healthier place for us all.

INDIGO AND SNOW

Annabella Sardelis is the textile artist behind this environmentally-conscious textile shop. Sardelis started as an organic gardener for over 20 years and majored in Environmental Studies in college. From this, she developed a passion for creating beautiful things by hand from stones, wood and plants and other items cultivated in her garden. She has chosen to create something beautiful while also using organic cotton, sustainable fibers, non-toxic dyes and materials manufactured in the USA.

ESSENCE ONE

Lauren founded Essence One after being diagnosed with depression. She discovered that essential oils and aromatherapy were not only helpful for her recovery but it was also something she felt passionate about. After receiving her Certification in Aromatherapy from Aromahead Institute, she founded Essential One as a way to help people discover the benefits of aromatherapy and the advantages of replacing toxic products with all-natural products.
