Laura Marling - May 5th @ First Avenue

British folk singer-songwriter Laura Marling is touring the US following the release of her latest album Semper Femina. Semper Femina means “always woman” and deals with women’s perspective of women. Wise beyond her years, we already know this introspective old soul is gonna drop some KNOWLEDGE. Come experience a night that promises to reach the full spectrum of your emotions.

Minnesota Public Radio is hosting an open house in honor of their 50th anniversary. There’s gonna be tours, specials guest, hands on audio activities, and free CDs and books. You can even visit the MPR CD library which has over 100,000 CDs. Inside sources tell us that over 80,000 of those CDs are signed Nickelback albums. Fury Things - May 7th @ Triple Rock

“Fury Things are best rock band in the Twin Cities.” High praise from the Current’s Eric Thompson for local three piece band. Find out for yourself whether that holds true or not on Triple Rock on May 7th for only ten bucks.

BONUS: proceeds from this show go toward benefiting UNICEF. Help make the world a better place just by jamming out to rad music.

Can’t make it? You can always donate to UNICEF here. Thanks for spreading the love.

Dogs of MSP Brew and Bark - May 7 @ Inbound Brewco

Pints and Pups, what more could you want? Join Inbound Brewco and Dogs of MSP on May 7th for a day full of good food, good brews, and (mostly importantly) good pups. They’ll also be selling Dog of MSP pint glasses where a portion of the proceeds will go to The Retrievers - a non profit in Saint Paul dedicated reconnecting lost dogs with their owners and helping rescue dogs find homes. Grab a glass and help the pups.

Feel free to bring your dog!

COMMUNE BABE: ADAM LEVY

Shoutout to this week’s Commune Babe Adam Levy! He performed at the Mid West Music Fest, both as a solo artist and with his band: The Honeydogs. Is that not the best band name you’ve ever heard? We think it gives City page’s 2017 winner (Lazy Scorsese) a run for it’s money. Hopefully you caught this Minnesota staple live. Look for him to keep doing big things!
